Kegel Balls

Fifty Shades of Grey Inner Goddess Silver Pleasure Balls, 221g

I’ve had these kegel balls for some time, having purchased them from Lovehoney in May 2016. It’s taken me until December 2016 to review them as for me, they are the pelvic-floor equivalent of lifting a 200lb barbell! In reality, I haven’t lifted anything much heavier than my toddler daughter who is only about a 10th of that weight!

They are packaged in a lovely sturdy black box, embossed with Fifty Shades of Grey on the lid. Also included in the box are a leaflet with instructions and a silver satin drawstring bag. The pleasure balls themselves are two carbon steel balls interconnected by a sturdy silicone retrieval cord with a large chrome-plated ‘tag’ engraved with ‘Fifty shades of Grey’. Despite the weight being stated as 221g on Lovehoney’s page, my Salter digital balance weighed these balls in at 189g. Nonetheless, they still feel mighty heavy compared with my other kegel balls, though the circumference of these balls seems about the same as the silicone Beyond Aroused balls (also from the Fifty Shades of Grey range; see below).

In use, the balls slide in easily with the help of some water-based lubricant (avoid silicone lube to avoid damaging the retrieval cord), and I can hold them in for about 10 minutes at a time. As this milestone is reached, the lower ball starts to drop and slide out of my vagina. Whether this is due to the weight of the balls or the slipperiness when they’re coated with lube, I’m not quite sure, though I suspect at the present time they are simply more weight than my nether regions can handle!

They are reasonably straightforward to clean with antibacterial cleaner/ soap and warm water, and then I leave them to air dry. The metal tag is pretty big and may get awkward to hold in underwear, though I cannot really comment on this seeing as I’ve not worn them much longer than the aforementioned 10 minutes at a time. I plan to persevere with these balls to see how long I can hold them in for, but only when I’m around the house, as I do not feel confident that these slippery spheres will not make an unwelcome appearance. Imagine the damage these balls could do were they to land on my toes, (or even worse, someone else’s) – ouch! No, far safer to stick with the Beyond Aroused silicone balls for kegel exercise whilst out and about!

The Fifty Shades of Grey Inner Goddess Pleasure Balls are available from Lovehoney for £24.99.

First Time Love Duo Lover Kegel balls

I thought I’d try these to tone up the pelvic floor muscles, and with some lube they go in easily. They weigh 45g so are good for beginners to kegel balls. Other reviewers on Lovehoney had commented that the loop-pull can get in the way and be a bit uncomfortable. This can be the case, but with a bit of manipulation it’s possible to get a good fit.

Cleaning is made easier with a small brush to get into the grooves that go around the middle of each ball. The sensation of having them inside is quite nice, and feels good when they’re being pulled out. A fun way to exercise, and interesting thing for your partner to find! The First Time Love Duo kegel balls are available from Lovehoney for £12.99.

Lovehoney BASICS Black jiggle balls

This set of jiggle balls come in a little hard plastic case, inside a cardboard box. The case was snugly wedged in the box, so my eager fingers found it tricky getting it out.

The balls appear sturdy; a tug on the cord between them assured me that I would not end up having to fish a ball out! On first insertion, the balls felt slightly bigger in diameter compared with my other kegel balls. They’re also less forgiving, since they are hard plastic. But with plenty of lube, this did not reoccur on subsequent testing.

Lovehoney BASICS balls felt comfortable to wear, although I only tend to wear them for a couple of hours at a time. The retrieval cord sat comfortably in my underwear without causing irritation. On bending down, I could hear a slight clicking sound, which I discovered to be the inner balls rotating around. I was at home, so this did not cause any embarrassment. If you like to wear jiggle balls in public, these may not be the best ones to use, as the sound could be off-putting.

Upon removing the balls they slid out very easily, on account of the copious secretions they aroused! Cleaning the balls was okay, but not as easy as the FSoG set, due to the dimples in these balls. I found using a tooth brush head with sex toy cleaner the best way to scrub them up.

The plastic case comes in handy for drying and storing the balls after use. A good enough set of jiggle balls for novices or experienced users alike and a pleasant way to ‘warm yourself up’ for your partner. The BASICS Black Jiggle Balls are currently priced at £8.99 from Lovehoney.

Included in the ‘3 for £15 sexy stocking fillers’ offer.

Fifty Shades of Grey Beyond Aroused Kegel Ball Set

I’m a fan of the FSoG range; after trying some beginners’ kegel balls, I wanted to try some intermediate ones. The fact that these balls are interchangeable in the silicone cradle made them very appealing to me.

The packaging is the classy black box I’ve come to love from this range. Included is a little red drawstring bag. The weights of the balls vary nicely. You can go from a minimum of 40g with the two lightest balls, up to 90g with the heavier ones.

I would be intrigued to see if I could use the balls on their own without the cradle. I’ve not done so yet, as I’m too worried about them getting stuck! The cradle is simple to load with the balls and the assembly slides inside my vagina easily enough with some lube. The tag hangs out, without getting in the way, so it feels comfortable sitting in my pants.

Cleaning is simple. Just squirt some toy cleaner and rinse. They feel comfortable when inserted, and get my juices flowing, though I do not orgasm from them. If I add some clitoral stimulation while wearing them, it gives another dimension to my orgasms as I clench around the balls.

My favourite kegel balls so far! Get your Beyond Aroused set from Lovehoney for £29.99.

Liberator Pulse Cushion

Liberator pulse cushion for the pushin’

I’d heard of the Liberator range and thought, ‘ok, they sound like nice cushions but surely they cannot justify the £65+ price tag?!’ I was more tempted to splash out on one when I struck up a conversation with Damian from Bedroom Adventures, and was kindly offered a 25% discount. From their range, the Liberator Pulse cushion took my fancy as it offers pockets for holding toys. Not to mention, dildos can be held within the Liberator Pulse cushion to form my very own rodeo ride! Now if that doesn’t quicken the pulse, I don’t know what will!

The flip-top packaging gives ideas for how to use the Liberator Pulse cushion

Besides, just being useful as a solo masturbatory aid, the Liberator Pulse can aid comfort for partner play, acting as a wedge. Raised hips add something deeply sinful to standard missionary. The Liberator Pulse cushion can also be leant over for a more ‘relaxing’ doggie style. There’s no need to fret about getting wet and sticky on the cushion, as it has a velvety removable cover that can be machine washed.

Shrink-wrapped for economic shipping

The box that the Liberator Pulse cushion arrived in looked far too small. I had heard that the cushions were vacuum-packed to save space and waste less packaging. A sexy lady was on the box, and there was a magnetic flip opening to give more information about the cushion’s uses. On opening the box, the Pulse was tightly compressed into a mini sleeping-bag style case. I removed the vacuum-packed Pulse from the bag, and released it from its plastic wrapper. Poof! It blew back up to its normal size. Impressive! The cushion consisted of the foam  encased in its waterproof jacket. The velvety plush cover was packaged separately.

The cover was easy enough to position over the cushion. Once set up, I was keen to try out my new Liberator. I tried using my Tango bullet and the Leaf Vitality + vibrator in the pocket. I found with both though, that they didn’t easily reach my clitoris. Moreover, because the pocket is quite wide, there is a bit too much ‘wriggle room.’ The first dildo I tried in the cushion was my Shaftsbury metal dildo. I found this got ‘lost’ within the cushion too easily though, being a slimmer dildo. I tried a meatier, silicone dildo; the Tantus Echo. This has a base so is better for being ‘gripped’ by the Pulse’s opening. I tried riding my toys on the cushion, in both directions. The best orientation I found was having the thicker part under my butt. This gave the best position for rocking against.

Rocking and Rolling

Using the Liberator Pulse cushion is a fun way to grind myself against my dildos. I find the thicker dildos with a base work best with the cushion. I feel supported, so I can play for extended periods without getting fatigued. Conventional straddling of a toy over my bed can get tiring on the thighs and butt after a time. Though I’ve not played much with clitoral toys in the pockets, I’m wondering how a rabbit would fare in the slot of the pulse. I’m sure I could put my Desire Rabbit to good use in this way, as I like to straddle this toy using it on my bed.

When the cover needs a wash, it is easy enough to remove and put in the machine on a 40 degree synthetic cycle. It dries within 24 hours. The cushion itself is discreet. It has the Liberator label, but this does not scream out sexual aid.

For use with Mr Bunny, the Liberator Pulse cushion makes a nice comfy prop to lean over for doggie style, or I can wedge it under my hips. Either way, it’s a fun toy to add to our collection!
