As an affiliate of Lovehoney, I recently reached out to them to see whether they had any lingerie ranges in need of a review. Following an exchange of emails, I chose to try the Mindful Lace Cami and shorts in purple. The set appealed to me as it is made from 80% recycled polyamide, and comes in a compostable bag, making it an ethical choice for those wishing to live more sustainably. Far too much waste goes into landfill, so it’s a positive change to see some attractive underwear that cares about our planet.
I received the set in the M/L size, and the purple is a deep aubergine shade. The Cami has a V-neck front, with a criss-cross strap between the cups. There is an elasticated band under the bust, which features the Lovehoney heart motif running across it. At the back, the straps meet at a silver O-ring. Adjustable straps complete the Racerback detailing. The lace design of the Cami set is floral, and there are no seams. When I tried the cami on, I found it to be a good fit, and the material has enough stretch to it.
When I wore the shorts with the cami, I felt they gave plenty of coverage of my bottom, without looking too frumpy. As a mum, I desire to feel sexy whilst not going for the ‘mutton-dressed-as-lamb’ look.
All in all, the Mindful Purple Lace cami set would look good on its own as sleep-wear. Alternatively, it would be suitable under a sheer top, for an evening out. I like the set and its functional use of recycled garments.
The care label advises to hand wash, so I will do this for the first laundry cycle, though it would probably be ok to machine wash on a delicates setting.
