It’s been a while since I posted; apologies for that.
Sometimes it feels like everything hits you at once, and the past month a lot has happened.
I’m determined to live my best life during this uncertain period of time, however.
Job uncertainty
This paragraph relates to Mr Bunny rather than me. I’m on a phased return to work. It’s going alright so far, though I do get tired so I need frequent breaks. I’m doing more desk-bound work now, but I still walk around the lab occasionally. Mainly to hassle people for corrections to their paperwork, but I introduce some banter too to make the task less odious.
Mr Bunny is now on ‘garden leave’ until his employment ends mid July. He’s looking for work. Once we’re back from our holiday in East Anglia, he will resume the job hunt in earnest. He wants to stay in the scientific research field. He worked his way up in his current role, over 19 years. So his future employer will see he has ‘staying power.’
Scan-xiety
Meanwhile, in terms of the health issues I’m dealing with at present, I had CT scans on my chest and abdomen last week.
I’m awaiting the results. My consultant works at Addenbrookes, and does private clinics on a Tuesday evening. I’ll hopefully be seeing them on the 3rd June. There was no time to schedule an appointment before then due to us both being busy with other commitments.
What I did find out though, which was fortuitous, is that I had some embolisms/ vascular blockages in my airways in both lungs. So I got prescribed some blood thinning meds to help dissolve those. I feel like I’ll be rattling with all the meds I’m now on!
HRT
I’ve been on HRT now about a month. I’m using the oestrogel metered dose pump, to apply the gel to each thigh before I go to bed. I also take Progesterone tablets, as I still have my womb.
I feel like it’s helped a lot with alleviating the hot flushes, as I seem to need my rechargeable neck fan less often. Also, I think my sleep has improved a bit.
Any improvement is good, as I literally went cold turkey menopausal since my surgery in September.
Living life to the full
As I said in a previous post, we’re making plans to do as much together as a family as we can.

The Butlins trip we had in April was amazing. We had the best weekend, enjoying all the shows put on, and seeing the stars of Gladiators; Comet and Electro. Plus, getting photos with them and another with ‘Piranha’ from the Masked Singer Live.
We also thoroughly enjoyed Six the Musical at the cinema. The story telling was great, and Little Bunny loves her Horrible Histories, so it was an entertaining way for her to learn about Henry VIII’s six wives and their fates. They also had a contest of sorts about who had the ‘worst deal’. Personally I think my sympathies lie most with Katherine of Aragon (Wife 1), Jane Seymour (Wife 3) and Catherine Howard (Wife 5).
We’re looking forward to sharing some quality time together in Norfolk. I bought a wetsuit to try in the sea. Let’s hope it stays nice weather wise!
I also have plans to upgrade my car. Get my dream motor. So I’ll be looking to sell my current one and put the money toward my next one. Meanwhile I invested in a second hand 2-wheeled variety of wheels. My plan is to try and get more physically fit over the summer.
I’ll finish this post for now as I have stuff to be getting on with. But just wanted to update folks on the situation and say hello!
