Purple satin storage pouch, black beaded glass dildo and outer packaging for the Fifty Shades Freed It's Divine Beaded Glass Wand

Fifty Shades Freed® It’s Divine Beaded Glass Wand

As a collector of other Fifty Shades toys, I was interested to try one of the latest offerings from the E. L. James approved pleasure collection. I have previously reviewed the Drive Me Crazy glass wand from the original series of toys. It seems appropriate to test another glass toy and compare the two. Lovehoney kindly sent me the Fifty Shades Freed® It’s Divine Beaded Glass Wand, in exchange for this review.

I eagerly opened the box to find not just one It’s Divine Beaded Glass Wand, but two! The timing couldn’t have been better really, as the blog is shortly due to celebrate it’s first anniversary. What better than to host a giveaway to mark the occasion?!

That’s enough preamble; onto the review! The packaging for the Fifty Shades Freed® range is as attractive as it has been for the previous collections. Each collection has it’s own colour-coordinated theming, and Freed is no different. The outer box is a dark purple evoking passion and embossed with rose gold typography. The inner box is a more robust affair, and is plain black with Fifty Shades Freed® embossing (once again) in rose gold. Lift the lid and inside the It’s Divine Beaded Glass Wand sits in a plastic tray.  Under the tray are the obligatory satin storage pouch, in a deep plum along with instruction leaflet.

It’s Divine-ly sculpted

The Fifty Shades Freed® It’s Divine Beaded Glass Wand is a classy looking dildo. When I look at it, the Sam Sparro song Black and Gold comes into my mind. The curved wand has five beaded ‘bulbs’ along its length. A sixth bulb functions as the handle. On the front of this, the logo is visible in gold. Notice the theme here?

Now, the more eagle-eyed among you have probably spotted that Lovehoney sell their own version of this wand. It’s slightly cheaper, so if you’re keen on a glass beaded dildo, then Lovehoney’s own is less expensive (*subject to promotional offers). The two dildos primarily differ in their circumference and length:

Lovehoney Beaded Sensual Glass Dildo:

  • Circumference: 5.5 inches.
  • Insertable Length: 8 inches.
  • Length: 9 inches.

Fifty Shades Freed® It’s Divine Beaded Glass Wand:

  • Circumference: 4.5 inches.
  • Insertable Length: 7 inches.
  • Length: 8 inches.

Personally I’m happy with slightly less girth, as it means I do not necessarily need to be fully ‘warmed up’ to accept the bulbs. The beauty of glass is that it glides so well on its own. If you produce enough of your own natural lubricant, then you won’t need to apply any. I am more than happy to use lubricant, and glass toys lend themselves to either water-based or silicone-based lubricants.

Verre is versatile

I like to use glass at its ambient temperature or slightly warm. The bulbs of the Fifty Shades Freed® Its Divine Beaded Glass Wand feel sublime when caressed over my labia and vulva. It’s a pleasure to relax into the moment as  the glass strokes my skin and  warms to my core temperature. As the beads enter my vagina, it reminds me why I like glass so much. The bulbous texture is so much more arousing than a uniformly phallic dildo. With the curve, the tapered tip hits my inner front wall, and I can thrust or rock to my content.

Not only is this dildo great for vaginal stimulation, but I imagine it would be pretty awesome for anal use too. I’ve just not had the time to test this myself, but seeing as the shaft is curved I do not see why anal use be procluded.

At the start of this review I mentioned that I’d compare the It’s Divine Wand to the Drive Me Crazy wand. I actually prefer the beads of the It’s Divine to the little nubs of the Drive Me Crazy. The reason why is that they are more filling and I like the gentle stretching sensation that each bulb provides. Moreover, I feel that the curve in the shaft and the tapering of the tip on the It’s Divine Wand are better for G-spot stimulation. Hence if you are new to the Fifty Shades collection and are looking to try glass, I’d say choose the It’s Divine over the Drive Me Crazy.

Fifty Shades Freed® It's Divine Beaded Glass Wand
It’s Divine has a more tapered end making it better suited for G-spot play.

For those that want slightly more girth at a cheaper price you may be better off selecting the Lovehoney own brand dildo, but that’s a decision that lies with yourself. Cleaning the wand is really easy; simply use an antibacterial wipe or soap and water. Leave to dry or wipe dry with a lint-free cloth.
